What a provocative, sexy photo! Autographed, too! |
Maybe I’m just a photo-mad fan, but I’m starting my sixth gallery
showcasing fifty (50) photos of my favorite star.
Say what you will about the 1950’s eyebrows, Joan Crawford was still a sexy beast at any stage in her career,
as the above photo from the 1940’s (my personal favorite period) demonstrates.
She certainly knew how to project glamour, mystique, sensuality, and myriad “other-worldly” and larger-than-life
qualities, plus had the raw ingredients to work with, not to mention talent and charisma, which accounts for her enduring
fascination, allure and iconic power. While
even her hands were beautiful and manicured (note above), Crawford was never a wilting violet, but a sassy sister often exposing
social hypocrisy in her onscreen roles, a powerhouse on and off-camera. Eternally
controversial, she is completely one-of-a-kind and so damn good to look at (thanks, Joan, for being "all that!") Viva the diva! - D. Nowak
